Pastor George's Vision

My name is Pastor George M. Crisp. In the early 1980’s I came to Austin,TX from Houston,TX. I was in a full blown alcohol and drug addiction.

On November 9th, 1992, I went to Alcoholics Anonymous and began my recovery. After forty-eight (48) days of sobriety, I was called back to Houston to care for my 80 year old Mother who was having strokes. During this time my family also discovered that my oldest brother had cancer. I had an encounter with Jesus Christ while I was caring for my Mother. She passed away on November 2nd, 1994. My brother passed away on January 24, 1995.

I returned to Austin, and started to attend church and in 1997 surrendered my life to the Lord. In November 2000, I went to Charlotte, NC and met Jim & Ronda Shock who started the very first Recovery Church. In February, 2001 we started Angels Healing & Recovery Church. While praying for the leading of the Lord, we were blessed to find Pastor Tom & Erin Dykman and the Sunrise Community Church congregation, who blessed us with the use of their church each and every Thursday and Saturday evening. We have been there since 2001. We are eternally grateful for this facility and the blessings of this fine ministry, now led by Pastor Mark and Catie Hilbelink.

After approximately 9 months, Pastor David Johnson from Selah Church of Austin attended a church service and offered to mentor me and help me to grow in leading the church. At that time I had no experience or training in pastoring. In 2003 I was ordained into TD Jake’s ministry. After ministering for 7 years and being divorced for 28 years, the Lord answered my prayers for my wife and helpmate.

I met Paula in Sept 2008 at a Spiritual Hunger Conference in Spokane, WA. We married in January of 2009 and she moved here from Canada to be with me and to be part of the ministry. We share a vision for a church/shelter that will operate 24/7.

Since Angels Healing & Recovery Church began in 2001, we have seen many broken lives being dedicated to Jesus Christ. This ministry has a mission, which Luke 4:18 states!!! We continue in the work of the Lord for His Glory and victoriously wait for His return.

Luke 4:18, 19 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.

The Vision

Our dream is to have a church/shelter where we can have ministry going 24/7.

It will never stop!!!

Praise and worship, healing rooms, job training and placement, clothes closet, food pantry, bible studies, GED programs to help the lost and hopeless individuals be restored to the Kingdom of God!!! So that they can go and testify to the city and beyond of the power of God!!!! To see the Mighty Hand of God do the Super-Natural!! To serve the Kingdom of God with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors, the less fortunate individuals, as ourselves. To inspire hopeless individuals with the love of Christ so that they will be equipped to go and inspire others to know Jesus Christ and His Love and His Power!!!!

Matthew 25:40
The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
